SMITH RETURNS WITH A BANG AS BADGERS KEEP UP GOOD FORM

BROCTON made it three wins out of four with a 2-1 home win over Heath Hayes thanks to a returning hero.

The Badgers took the lead in the 36th minute. Last season’s 36-goal leading scorer, Regan Smith, was playing his first game back at the club and he made progress down the right before lobbing the ‘keeper.

Soon after half-time, Heath Hayes drew level through former Stafford Rangers player Jack Edwards.

Brocton won it in the 53rd minute. A corner into the box produced a melee and Smith forced the ball in.

UTTOXETER TOWN lost their third game in a row, 3-2 at Kirby Muxloe.

Kirby took a 34th-minute lead when Bakary Mass set up Dan Barber. They doubled their lead right on half-time when Barber drove a 25yard free-kick straight in. It seemed all over for Uttoxeter in the 58th minute when Levi Fray scored from a corner.

But they mounted a comeback and in the 61st minute Alex Britton found Ollie Ritchie for his first goal of the season. Jack Hassall added a second six minutes from time but they couldn’t find an equaliser.

ROCESTER were beaten 2-1 at Chelmsley Town. Chelmsley took a 2-0 firsthalf lead via an own goal and Jordan Wade header.

Jordan Godfrey pulled a goal back in the 65th minute. A Jack Thatcher cross was headed across goal by Elisio Francisco and Godfrey lashed the ball into the roof of the net.

STAFFORD TOWN put up a brave fight before losing 1-0 at runaway leaders Lichfield City. Peter Till scored in the first few minutes.
