DOZENS of Sentinel readers praised their children’s schools following their return this week.

Some welcomed the children back with banners while others put up balloons – and there was even a dancing bear at one school!

This is what you had to say about schools in Stoke-on-trent and North Staffordshire:

VERITY ANN CADDY: “Grove Academy did an amazing job as I’m sure all schools did! Thank you to all the wonderful teachers for their hard work and support.”

LYNN DUDLEY COLLEY: “Bursley Academy – Nurture, Inspire, Achieve. They have been an absolute strength to people and deserve a massive shout out. Well done to you all.”

NATALIE COOK: “Our Lady’s and St Benedict in Abbey Hulton. Welcome back banner and massive smiles from all the staff. Well done guys.”

SARAH HELEN GOODWIN: “St Anne’s Primary in Brown Edge made a very special effort with upbeat music and balloons and a dancing bear... my son was so excited to go back anyway but that made it so much more fun! Well done St Anne’s.”

ZOE LOUISA: “Horton St Michael’s CE First school and Nursery had a lovely welcome back display, all through the woodland that the children walk through in a morning. The teachers made a real effort. The smiles on the

children’s faces coming out of school was lovely to see too.”

LISA CATHERINE MULLEY:

“St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary did a lovely job of welcoming the children back. There was music and balloons at the entrance with the teachers coming out also and fairy lights up in my son’s classroom. It was lovely.”

AMY LOUISE PALMER: “Millhill Primary Academy had balloons up too... Hope all the children enjoyed their first day back.”

EMMA SHACKLESTON: “St Anne’s in Brown Edge did an amazing welcome back! Bubbles, music, staff dressed as teddy bear, balloons, banners. Love that school.”

EMMA LOUISE ADAMS: “St Peter’s Catholic Academy in Cobridge had a beautiful welcome back balloon banner on the gates as we arrived, and when I collected my girls at 3pm they had been gifted a bag of treats with games and a book! What a wonderful return to school – thank you St Peter’s.”

LIANNE LEVISON: “All Saint’s Primary in Ranton did an amazing backto-school party day, really made a difference for the children going back.”

SHARON CRAWFORD: “I’d like to give St Giles’ & St George’s C of E Academy a massive thank you.

“The staff have gone above and beyond for all the children in school and at home.

“No pressure for any of them, my twins have been majorly effected by the broken routines and I cannot thank the reception staff and head teacher for how far they have gone to support the boys.

“I can’t thank them enough for the support and continued support.”

SOPHIE RYAN: “Werrington Primary School had balloons out for their pupils and teachers looked excited to see all the children. It was a lovely welcome back for the children.”

SARAH BAILEY: “My daughter’s school Park Hall Academy (SBMAT) did such an amazing job. They had arrows for where to walk, they decorated all around the gates with bubbles everywhere.

“They greeted all the children with smiles and happy faces. It was just so amazing to see. Staff always go above and beyond.”
