Lottery syndicate face nervy wait to find out whether they’ve really scooped the jackpot
AS Kay Mellor’s lottery-based drama returns, this time it’s the workers at Woodvale Kennels who are hoping for a big win.
Keeley, played by Katherine Rose Morley, is upstairs in her bedroom gambling online on her phone. She keeps losing, but ploughs on.
Her mum, played by Kym Marsh, is fuming when a debt collector bangs on the door wanting to know where the £425 is that Keeley owes.
And it’s her birthday. She just can’t catch a break.
With nothing in her bank account, Keeley needs to think of a way to get the cash and fast… winning the lottery would certainly solve all her problems.
Of course she’s always in the market for a scratch card or two, but there’s also the lottery syndicate that she has at work.
Down at the newsagents, run by bickering engaged couple Frank and Cheryl, played by North Staffordshire’s Neil Morrissey and Gaynor Faye, she is absolutely stunned to find out the staff have won £500 on their latest lottery ticket.
But there’s bad news back at Woodvale with a special announcement about its future.
And there are further revelations when the group realise their numbers might have won more than £500. Maybe even the £27 million jackpot.
Perhaps Frank has made a mistake with their ticket? Oh hang on, where is Frank?
This is a charming, bighearted cat and mouse romp, with a wonderful ensemble cast, also including Joe Sugg, Mark Benton and Katie Mcglynn.
