A YOUNG creative writer has published his first book – at just 11-years-old!

Glass Arm was released earlier this year by Ezekiel Frain.

The jam-packed action book introduces readers to a secret agent called Golden Ninja, who is recruited to thwart a fictional terrorist group, known as Scorpion.

Schoolboy Ezekiel, from Congleton, spent three months working on his first book – which he wrote entirely on his ipad.

He’s already got ideas for the next 10 books in the Golden Ninja series.

Ezekiel, who attends Mossley CE Primary School, said: “I first came up with the idea with two of my friends, when I was eight.

“I didn’t really have a plot for it until much later on, but I came up with all of the characters like Scorpio and Golden Ninja. Scorpio is one of the bad guys.

“When I was writing the book, I tried to do a little bit every day. It was actually easier than I thought, and fun.

“I enjoyed coming up with different characters, especially the villains and their grand schemes. I also really enjoyed writing the action parts.

“I have a soft spot for all the characters, but my favourite is probably Damian Gunner, the main character.

“Some bits were a bit trickier to write. For example, there is a chess scene, and that took a long time because I had to do some research and find out what all of the pieces did.”

Ezekiel never intended to publish his first book, but when supportive dad Ben read his son’s work, he knew he had to share it with the world.

Ezekiel said: “I just wanted to write it anyway. I knew that I could always improve as I got older.

“My dad read some of it and said it was really good. He told me that if I finished it then he’d publish it on Amazon for me.

“That really spurred me on and made me really excited to write the climax.

“It was good to get the physical copy of the book, but what was more exciting, was seeing other people with it, like my friends.

“People at school will come up to me and say that they have got my book, which is really nice. Someone told me I had inspired them to start writing which is one of the greatest things to have happened.”

Proud dad Ben Frain added: “Two years ago, he was the last child in his class to get his pen license. Now he’s used an electronic device to write his first book. It’s been lovely to see his confidence grow and to see him find this way of expressing himself. We’re all really proud of him.” Ezekiel is already 120 pages into the sequel.

He added: “I would love to be a full-time author when I’m older.”
