THE team behind a beauty salon have a secret – and they can’t wait to share it with everyone!

81 Rose Garden has been helping customers to look their best for two years – now it’s going to give them a top quality bar and restaurant to look their best in.

And they won’t have to walk too far – it’s right next door to the Clayton Road salon in Newcastle.

Work is almost complete on The Secret Garden – with a mouth-watering menu including cocktails, tapas and live music.

Now the team hope – Covid permitting – to open on June 21.

81 Rose Garden’s salon manager Sam Wetwood said: “We were absolutely steaming ahead with everything before Covid, and we would be open by now if it wasn’t for that.

“We managed to get a lot done during lockdown but it has taken us some time. When you are opening somewhere new, there is so much to do.

“But the finish is absolutely top drawer and the standard of work is just amazing – I’m blown away every time I walk in, and I see it every day, so I can’t wait for people to see it for the first time.

“We’re aiming to open on June

21. It’s not 100 per cent confirmed yet. We’d love to hit that deadline, but it’s all about logistics and getting everything in place.

“It would be great if when lockdown is completely lifted that we could have an official launch.” The Secret Garden’s menu is still to be confirmed, but it promises the very best food and drink, from 8am to 11pm every day.

Sam said: “We have a conservatory that will host afternoon teas and we’ll be doing cocktails. We’d also love to do specialised cocktail events and evenings too, with lots of different ones for people to try.

“We’ve got a back garden and seating out the front too.”

81 Rose Garden’s co-owner Jen Regan said: “It’ll be tapas-type food, small meals that people can pick and choose from, to give everyone a bit more choice. We’ll be doing breakfast too, so we’ll be open from 8am to 11pm.

“There’ll be live music, DJS, local singers, violinists – just something different to try to encourage local talent. Everybody I know goes to London and Manchester, and places like that, for a bit of quality, so why not bring that to North Staffordshire, and have it here on your doorstep?”
