SHOPPERS are back in the city centre for the first time in months – and traders have come up with a new way to keep them there.
MI Rewards loyalty scheme offers members points every time they spend in certain Hanley businesses.
Stoke-on-trent City Centre BID is encouraging people to support city centre businesses after non-essential retail and outdoor hospitality were allowed to reopen on Monday.
The free scheme offers points for every pound spent in 31 locations, including The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, the Stoke City store and Klay Pizzeria.
Purchases using a registered payment card at any of the businesses signed up to MI Rewards are tracked automatically – like a Tesco Clubcard– and for every 10 points collected the member is automatically entered into a monthly prize draw.
May’s prize – which the winner will have six months to redeem – is an allinclusive staycation for two at Hilton Garden Inn. The winner and a guest can enjoy an overnight stay in a king-size room, a three-course dinner with wine in the restaurant, a bottle of prosecco and chocolates for the room, plus breakfast.
Customers can also gain exclusive and priority access to city centre events, and bag deals and discounts on local activities and meals out.
BID chair Jonathan Bellamy said: “Loyalty is one of the most important attributes for a strong community, and never more needed than in our day and age. Hundreds of city centre businesses and thousands of local jobs are battling for their future, and they depend on local people to use their services and buy from them.
“With this in mind, we are excited to champion this new loyalty scheme, through which local people can actively show that they support our city centre businesses. But more than that, it’s also an exceptional scheme that offers incredible rewards for people’s loyalty! It’s win-win!”
