How the new rules will affect you...

LEISURE CENTRES

Customers are asked to wear face coverings, unless exempt, until they get to their activity area.

They are being asked to continue to book swimming and health spas up to seven days in advance.

The need to book the gym will end from July 26, so that bookings can be honoured this week. Visitors are asked to check in using NHS Track and Trace QR codes and observe social distancing wherever possible.

One-way systems will remain in place, Perspex screens will be kept in place in reception areas, hand sanitisers will be available throughout centres and individual spray bottles will be available to use during visits. Spectators will be allowed for swimming and gymnastics classes, and lockers, changing areas and showers will reopen.

MUSEUMS

Restrictio­ns on the number of people visiting Gladstone Pottery Museum, in Longton, have now lifted. But visitors are strongly advised to book on 01782 237777.

Visitors are asked to check in using the NHS Track and Trace QR codes. One-way systems will remain in place in certain areas – including self-guided tours – Perspex screens will be kept at reception points and hand sanitisers will be available. Contactles­s payments are preferred to cash payments.

The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, in Hanley, remains temporaril­y closed as work on the £6m extension to the Spitfire gallery takes place.

CARMOUNTSI­DE

Up to 140 seated people can attend a funeral service in the chapel, the same as prelockdow­n. External speakers will be used again for larger funerals, and live-streaming of funeral services will be available again for a fee of £40. Reception at Carmountsi­de Cemetery and Crematoriu­m is fully open, with visitors encouraged to book. Mourners will be able to sing hymns, and hand sanitisers will be available. Visitors will be asked to check in using the NHS Track and Trace QR code.

LIBRARIES

At council-run libraries, summer holiday activities will be taking place. Booking is advised. Perspex screens will remain, hand sanitisers will be available and visitors are again asked to check in using the NHS Track and Trace QR code. Public toilets will reopen.

Face coverings are encouraged, and visitors will be strongly advised to wear a face covering and socially distance during busy periods, and when in enclosed indoor spaces.

There will no longer be limits on browsing times and all PCS will be back in use. Click, call and collect services will continue.

The authority also says third parties that book council venues must have completed risk assessment­s with the public protection and public health teams.
