BUDGET SUPERMARKET’S ‘VERY NICE’ HOMEWARE
HIGH street giant Primark has launched a new homeware range – and its Hanley store is one of 25 UK stores to sell it.
Part of the third storey of the Potteries Centre shop is now dedicated to everything from cushions to candles and vases to rugs.
There is also a selection of budget-friendly furniture including statement chairs, sideboards, shelving units and side tables.
The range also includes Disney and Marvel products, as well as toys and baby items.
There is a huge array of kitchenware such as frying pans, tea towels, scrubbing sponges, ice cream makers and crepe makers, as well as utensils.
Other miscellaneous items on offer include wicker baskets, decorations, wall prints and coat hangers.
Shoppers looking to overhaul their bathrooms can also pick up toiletries, towels and bath mats.
Primark Hanley has previously sold homeware but the new section is far larger.
Shoppers have welcomed the budget-friendly range.
Chelsea Swash, 23, from Meir, said: “I think it’s much better than it was and it’s very nice.
“They are doing furniture now which I think is nice and that will attract more people.”
Tracy Sellers, 57, from Cheadle, added: “It’s very good. This is the first time I have been in the shop since the homeware section opened. I do shop frequently in Hanley.”
Primark says the collection ‘offers the latest interior design trends and pocket-friendly prices’. Trading director Paul Baldwin said “There has been exceptional growth within our home and lifestyle department over the past 18 months as people have spent more time in their home. “Naturally we wanted to keep up with this growing customer demand and expand our offering into small furniture and several other new categories.” He added: “Delivering extended ranges in newly created spaces within selected stores will help establish Primark as a growing destination not only for great home and lifestyle accessories at amazing prices but also for larger statement and functional pieces to complete a room.”
