FIRST time buyers could snap up a family home in Stoke-on-trent for just £5,000.

The mid-terraced property at 201 London Road in Boothen is in need of a complete refurbishment.

The two-bedroom house was previously used as a shop, but could be converted back into a home with planning permission.

The property is one of a number in the city which will go under the hammer at Bond Wolfe’s next auction on October 20.

Another bargain is a threebedroomed, semi-detached house at 6 Ebury Grove in Longton, with a guide price of £50,000-plus.

The property is less than half of current market values and yet has gardens front and rear, a driveway and garage, and double glazing, but is in need of modernisation.

Also in need of renovation is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 129 Clanway Street, Tunstall, with a guide price of £44,000 to £49,000.

This property has a reception room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms upstairs, with gardens front and rear, a driveway and garage, gas central heating and double glazing.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “At a time when property prices are rising, we always have many bidders who come to our auctions with a focus on finding a bargain.

“These three are great examples of some of the properties we have on offer that could make great family homes once they have some care and attention invested in them.”

Alongside more than a dozen homes across Stoke-on-trent, the auction will include a trio of semi-detached houses in Newcastle that will attract property investors keen to boost the size of their rental portfolios.

Two four-bedroomed homes at 2 and 6 Tunbridge Drive, and a threebedroomed house at 37 Bath Road, are each coming up for sale with guide prices of £10,000-plus.

All three properties are let on existing tenancies, with the two larger houses generating £6,600 to £6,960 rental per annum, and the three bedroom home let at £4,680 per annum.

Mr Bassi added: “North Staffordshire offers terrific value across a broad range of properties, and we’re sure to have something to suit first time buyers, families wanting to find somewhere bigger, or landlords looking to increase their portfolio.”

The Stoke-on-trent and Newcastle properties are among a total of 188 lots that will appear in the Bond Wolfe auction, which starts at 9am.

The auction will be livestreamed via

Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.
