Gabriel’s poem: The Poetic Covid-19 Experience

-

Covid has affected many people in different ways.

With lockdowns and restrictions going on for many days.

Millions of lives everywhere, were sadly lost.

The devastating 2020 pandemic came at a major cost.

Face masks and sanitiser were an important must!

But often some didn’t use them out of silly distrust.

Everybody had to social distance and stay two metres apart.

First it was difficult to understand, but then people became smart.

I couldn’t go to school and see my teachers and best friend.

I kept hoping and praying the horrible pandemic would end.

With mums and dads we had to do daily learning from home.

I really missed school, where we could always freely roam. Playgrounds were closed and so were all kids’ activities.

All parties were cancelled, as well as other festivities.

The more the coronavirus globally continued to spread

The more the government was rushing to think ahead.

The NHS was seriously overworked like never ever before. Employees worked day and night and struggled more and more.

Sadly not every person could be saved, but health workers really tried. It’s plain to see the awesome NHS was always on our side!

Many things had changed for the worst and the world was afraid. Poverty increased because people couldn’t work and get paid. During the Covid-19 pandemic, HM The Queen gave a lovely speech, It showed each and everyone of us that hope is still in our reach.

The 2020 pandemic was one of the worst the world had ever seen.

For all of us back then, it truly felt like one horrible dream.

But the world united and fought against the Covid-19 destruction. Today the virus is dead, people are safe - thanks to the vaccine production.
