BAILEY AND BOURNE MAINTAIN SANDBACH’S UNBEATEN RECORD

CREWE and District League champions Sandbach Curshaws maintained their unbeaten record with a 2-1 victory over Crewe Wanderers.

Darren Bailey and Alex Bourne were on target to move them up to second place in the table.

FC Bollington stay one step ahead also maintainin­g their unbeaten start with a 4-2 win over Mary Dendy 1982. Scoring for FC Bollington were Kieron Shelton with two and one apiece for

Ashley Brown and Lewis Patterson. For Mary Dendy 1982, Reece Evans and Jon Macclellan were on target.

Mary Dendy faced Crewe Town FC, the third undefeated team in the league, and again it was the undefeated team that took the spoils with a 5-2 win.

The consolatio­n goals for the home side coming from Michael Giligan and Jamie Rice. Netting for the visitors were Ryan Tomlinson with a brace and strikes for Nathan Schofield and Nathan Hughes.

Sandbach Town beat AFC Crewe 5-1.

Brandon Howman (2), Mike Buckley, Luke Jones and Tom Edwards scored for the winners, with Billy Booth replying.

IN the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE, Tean Albion picked up a 2-1 victory at JCB Lakeside in their Division One match.

In the other top-flight game to be played, Bulls Head cruised to a 3-0 home success against Cheadle Rovers.

AFC Ipstones were the only winners in the three Division Two matches which were staged.

Ipstones turned on the style to win 3-0 at Leigh United - and there were plenty of goals in the other two encounters.

In fact, they both ended 3-3 as Tean Rangers and Stone Town picked up a point apiece, while Bird in Hand and Sudbury also shared six goals.

In the Staffs Sunday Cup, Holmcroft A beat Alton 4-2, Churnet Valley lost 5-4 at Duke of Wellington, while Uttoxeter Dominoes thrashed Burntwood Victoria 5-1.

Hixon made light work of Bramshall in their Ken Green Memorial first-round tie.

Hixon ran out 5-1 winners to book their place in the next round of the competitio­n.
