The Business Awards are back!
The Stoke-on-trent Businesslive 2022 Awards in association with The Sentinel and Stoke-on-trentlive are now open for entries
THE great and good of the business world are being invited to apply for the awards across 14 categories – including the brand new Diversity and Inclusion category which recognises organisations for harnessing a truly diverse workforce.
The event – which is once again being supported by Staffordshire University as headline sponsor – is a chance for companies and individuals to showcase their successes and achievements from the last 12 months.
Associate Dean of Employer Partnerships and Enterprise Marek Hornak said: “Staffordshire University is a Civic University which means we are committed to improving the regional economy and quality of life in our local communities. This includes supporting the development of higher level skills in industry and business. “We have sponsored this event over a number of years and see it as a brilliant opportunity to recognise the achievements of new and established businesses. This is central to our commitment as a Civic University and it’s important we are engaging with our wider business community at every level. “I’d encourage all our local companies to put themselves forward for these awards and achieve recognition for how they’re innovating and doing business differently.
“Innovation and enterprise are key to the nation’s recovery from covid and business growth in our region. Our Innovation Enterprise Zone offers opportunities for businesses involved in advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, sustainable transport and digital sectors.”
The category finalists will be announced in March ahead of an in-person ceremony to crown the winners on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
The 2022 awards were officially launched last week (October 20) at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, in Etruria, which brought together the 2021 winners and sponsors.
The Sentinel and Stoke-on-trent Live editor Marc Waddington, inset, said: “Each and every one of our workplaces is now probably a very different place to what it was before coronavirus, and it’s in these new forms, through these new ways of working, that we are having to face the challenges ahead of us.
“But for all of its difficulties, 2021 has – for some – been a year of success. Whether they have taken their business online, entered new markets or used their expertise to develop new products and services, firms are not only surviving but thriving.
“So we now feel the time is right to launch the Stoke-on-trent Businesslive Awards 2022, which is possible this year with the help of our friends and sponsors.” Last year’s winners included TMT First, Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld, Radwell International, Acorn Training Ltd, Eben Lovatt from Moneyshake.com, Stoke Chiro Spinal Health Centre, ICI Architecture Studio and Prosurv Consult Ltd – now Cumming Group. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Peter Wright of Wrights Food Group.
