GRANGE HIT THE GOAL TRAIL TO SECURE EASY HOME SUCCESS

-

FOOTBALL: Holditch Grange were in hot form in front of goal in their POTTERIES AND DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE Division One game against Wedgwood.

Grange rattled in 11 goals without reply on home turf in a superb display at the weekend.

Sami Miah led the spree with four goals, while Serkari Ahmedi helped himself to a hat-trick.

Israr Ghulam, Luke Alcock, Martin Wain and Jim Hazelton completed the rout. In Division Two, Barbers Life had a good morning on the road as they won 2-0 at Berwick Inn.

After a goal-less first 45, an Archie Evans effort and an own goal sealed the spoils for Barbers.

Butt Lane White Star produced a fine second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw with Barries.

Conah Maidmount’s double left visitors Barries 2-0 to the good at the interval. But White Star were rejuvenated after the resumption and goals from Reece Fallows and Ross Payton left the contest even. Hazelhurst upped the ante against Ashbank to win 5-2. The match was locked at 2-2 at half-time, before the home side stretched clear.

Jay Jones, Pete Carter, Danny Shelden, Leo Emery and Tom Silvester netted for Hazelhurst.

· IN the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE, Bird in Hand made home advantage count in some style to see off the challenge of Stone Town.

Uttoxeter Dominoes won 5-1 at Bulls Head, but the scoreline didn’t reflect the whole game.
