TOWERS PLANNING A FEAST OF FESTIVE FUN

-

ALTON Towers is to be transformed into a ‘festive wonderland’ this Christmas.

For the first time ever, the theme park’s Towers Street will host a Christmas market, which will be free to visit. There will also be a new light and lanterns trail, as well as a selection of rides with a Festive Day Out ticket.

The park will be open for its Christmas festivities from November 27.

The market will have more than 60 stalls selling crafts, gifts, festive food and mulled drinks, along with ‘twinkling lights and a feelgood festive atmosphere’.

The Festive Day Out ticket includes rides ideal for families, such as Cbeebies Land and Gangsta Granny: The Ride, and allows visitors to stroll through the enchanting Alton Towers Gardens Lights Walk: Twinkling Stars.

Alton Towers has teamed up with Lightopia for the light and lantern festival, Seasonal Wonderland, which will take guests on a magical journey through the four seasons.

The 1.5 mile trail features 120 different groups of lantern and light installations and more than one million LED light bulbs. A laser show will dazzle guests with colourful illuminations, specifically designed for the theme park.

Overnight stays are also available with the return of Santa’s Sleepover. The package includes an overnight stay in one of the themed hotels, a visit to Santa’s Grotto, one-day entry to the theme park, plus the Christmas market and lights walk.

Events and Entertainments Director Chris Carter said: “We’ve created the ultimate Christmas destination for families across the UK and beyond.”
