BETLEY SUFFER MAIDEN DEFEAT AS DUFFY NETS WINNINGTON DOUBLE

FOOTBALL: Crewe Regional League Premier Division leaders Betley suffered their first loss of the season after going down 2-0 at Winnington SC. Jack Duffy scored both of the home side’s goals to bring an end to the frontrunne­rs’ unbeaten record.

Faddiley’s availabili­ty issues continued and they could only field 10 players in their 9-1 loss to the Lions.

They actually took the lead through Rich Ryan, but hat-tricks from Deon Chesters and Caine Mellor, Lewis Clarke (2) and Norbert Aryatuha hit t he back of the net for Lions to complete a comfortabl­e success.

Talbot ran out 5-2 winners in their meeting with Cheshire Cheese. Aaron Davies and Robbie Prince scored for Cheese, but Liam Whittaker scored a hat-trick for Talbot with Danny Jones and Ryan Moss also scoring. In Division One the top two met with the leaders Audlem recording an excellent 5-1 win over Winsford Over 3 with goals from Nick Gregory (3), Will Cork and Paul Bowker. Sandbach Town kept up the pressure at the top with a 2-0 victory at C&N United with goals from Jay Street and Anthony Fidzewicz. Princes Feathers won 3-2 at Leighton FC with Kevin Douglas netting twice with Habib Kanton also scoring. Jonny Parkes and Jay Reddan scored for Leighton FC.

JS Bailey looked to be heading for a win when leading 4-2 with 10 minutes to go but late goals from White Horse levelled the game at 4-4. Connor Summers netted a hat-trick for JS Bailey with Greg Shephard also scoring.

Tom Royal scored twice for White Horse with other goals from Daniel Jones and Kieran Williams.

In the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup, Willaston WS lost 4-2 at The Bridge Inn, Runcorn. Lukasz Synowicz and Azharul Haque scored for Willaston WS. Nantwich Pirates lost 6-0 at home to Queens, Bredbury. George & Dragon paid the price for missed chances and eventually lost on penalties to Rock Ferry Social after the game finished 0-0.

Cooper Buckley conceded a late goal to lose 2-1 to Bromboroug­h Rake. Luke Gillan scored for Cooper Buckley.

· IN the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE, AFC Crewe recorded their first win of the season with a fine 4-3 victory over Sandbach Town with goals coming from Tobias Dickson, Danny Williams, Russel Schofield and Jonny Parkes.

The Sandbach Town goals coming from Nick Hyde (2) and Joe Purslow. Crewe Town had Ryan Tomkinson to thank for the 2-0 win with a strike in each half against Mary Dendy.

Mary Dendy 1982 suffered the same result against Sandbach Town Ramblers who had Damien Sloan and Chris Proudlove to thank for the goals in their 2-0 win.

Sandbach Curshaws were too strong for Crewe Wanderers having led 3-1 at half-time they finished the game 5-2 their goal coming from Thomas Dignum (3) and singles for Gary Cardno and Daryl Wood.

· CHURNET Valley were 4-2 winners at Cheadle Rovers in UTTOXETER LEAGUE Division One.

Adam Harper, Mitch Finney, Paul Hughes and Edward Brzuzy grabbed their goals, with Kyle Morrison and Jack Pattinson replying. Blue Mugge were also away winners as they won 2-0 at Uttoxeter Town A. Dec Heath and Bobby Jones were their marksmen.

Nick Ward scored a hattrick in Tean Albion’s

9-0 home victory over Uttoxeter Dominoes. Danny Glover (2), Callum Donnie, Tom Lowe, Greg Large and Dan Bloor were also on the scoresheet. Matt Redshaw was on the treble trail in JCB Lakeside’s 4-0 win at Alton.

Scott Hudson completed the easy victory for the visitors.

In Division Two, Hixon FC won 6-2 at home against Tuns FC. Zidane Sutherland grabbed a hat-trick, with Darien Emery, Sam Jessup and Matt Ricketts also finding the net

Alex Moss and Jordan Campion notched consolatio­ns for the visitors.

Steve Keeling’s goal earned Bird in Hand a 1-0 win at Stone Town, while Bramshall and Tean Rangers drew 1-1.
