Swift return should see Xcitations go one better

XCITATIONS shaped well when second on his first start over fences and can go one better in the Weatherbys Hamilton Novices’ Handicap Chase at Fakenham.

The Pam Sly-trained six-year-old was returning after a 176-day break and the experience will have done him good.

He is also winner over hurdles on this course in March so the tight track holds no fears.

Sabbathica­l showed a glimpse of promise on his return at Ffos Las and can build on that in the weatherbys­nhstallion­s.co.uk Handicap Chase.

He was given a very patient ride at the Welsh venue last week, making significan­t strides towards the finish and eventually being beaten just a length and a half.

Evan Williams’ runner makes a swift reappearan­ce here, but he should be primed for another decent run after that outing.

Chase at Ayr. The Iain Jardine-trained eight-year-old is twice a winner over the bigger obstacles at Newcastle, but finished her last spell of action with three outings over hurdles.

She won the last of those at Aintree in June and makes her first appearance since then. It can be a winning one.

Okavango Delta can build on his promising jumping debut to get off the mark in the Coral Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden Hurdle.
