HAPPY HALF-DOZEN HELPS REDGATE TO EASE PAST HANLEY

REDGATE Clayton are top of the Men Unite Premier Division after a 6-1 home victory over Hanley Town.

Redgate dominated proceeding­s in the first half, but only had Dave Ashley’s goal to show for their efforts.

The second half saw the goals flow, though, as Ashley turned home a cross before Travis Capey, substitute Steve Davies, full-back Richie Leech and Connor Lawton also found their way on to the scoresheet.

A determined Hanley side never gave in and grabbed a consolatio­n through Cian Barnsley.

AFC Alsager are in second place thanks to a 4-0 win against bottom-of-the-table Lichfield City Casuals.

Fin Patterson put the hosts ahead with an eighth-minute penalty and Jake Chadwick doubled the advantage before the break.

Second-half goals from Christian Allen and Harrison Bostock wrapped up the points.

City of Stoke were held to a 1-1 draw with Audley.

Niall Green netted for the visitors, with Kieran Lazenby on the mark for City of Stoke.

Brereton Social are up to fourth place after a 3-1 win at Wolstanton.

The goals and points were shared at Town Fields where hosts Audley Reserves held newly-promoted Cresswell Wanderers 1-1.

Jamie Harley was on target for the home side, while Sam Lycett was on target for the Walsallbas­ed visitors.

City of Stoke Reserves put a run of indifferen­t form behind them with a 3-1 victory over Eastwood Hanley Reserves at Trentmill Road.

Madeley White Star picked up a valuable three points at Manor Road with an impressive 2-1 win against Leek-based Ball Haye Green Reserves.

Harvey Lowe and Harry Minsall were on target for White Star with a reply coming from Khaled Tissaoui.

Keele University beat AFC Chesterton 3-1.

Ashbourne Developmen­t edged a nine-goal thriller by the odd strike against Burton based Huthman FC at the Osmaston Polo Ground.

In the Staffordsh­ire Moorlands, Dave Ottley’s Cheadle Town Reserves netted four times without reply against Walsall Phoenix Developmen­t with a Chris Lockett double added to by Matthew Cockfield and Curtis Leavy.

Plenty of goals were on offer at Wellbeing Park where Simon Dean’s Stone Dominoes FC thrashed fellow new newcomers Warstones Wanderers 5-1 with two goals from Luca Chandler and singles from Sam Finney, Kobie Kelley and Jake Darnbough causing the hurt for the Penkridge side.

Elsewhere, AFC Alsager Reserves travelled to Florence where they eased out the hosts 2-1 and Brereton Social Developmen­t put three past visitors Walsall Phoenix Reserves in Rugeley with a solitary reply from their Aldridge neighbours.
