JONES LEADS THE WAY AS LOGGERHEAD­S POCKET POINTS

DAN Jones scored twice as Loggerhead­s beat Wedgwood 5-2 in POTTERIES AND DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE Division One.

Nick Jones, Paul Ridley and Kurt Beaver were also on the mark, while Wedgwood troubled the scorers thanks to Simon Blanchard’s double. Holditch Grange won 3-2 at Princess.

Pete Williams, Sami Miah and Danny Muqeen were the goalscorin­g heroes for the visitors. Windmill and Queensbury shared the points from a six-goal thriller. Windmill’s goals came from Jack Davis (2) and Simon Michall, with Tom Hope’s double and Kirubel Assegid replying for Queensbury. In Division Two, Berwick Inn won 5-1 at home against Madeley White Star. Dean Beardmore (2), Jamie Robinson, Ran Everill and Daniel Malpass were the scorers. Josh Ward responded for White Star. It was a point apiece for Butt Lane and LA FA as they played out a 2-2 draw. Josh Marlow and Joe Figgin found the scoresheet for Butt Lane, but Sam Dimarco and Koran Parsons ensured parity. Hazelhurst hit five in their victory over Linley Tavern.

Billy Silvester helped himself to a hat-trick, allied to strikes from Ashley Thompson and Low Emery. Owen Henshall and Nick Marley netted a couple of consolatio­ns for the visitors.

Jake Sherwin hit a hat-trick in River Trent Rovers’ 3-0 home win against Radway Rovers, while Queens Head beat Ashbank 4-2.

In the TB Williamson Trophy, Barbers Life defeated Barries 3-1. JCB Lakeside and Uttoxeter Dominoes drew 1-1 in the UTTOXETER AND DISTRICT LEAGUE.

Kieron Bullock netted for JCB, with Josh Pirie replying.

In Division Two, Luke Bebbington scored for Bramshall in their 1-1 draw at Bird in Hand.

Leigh United had Matt Mcniece to thank for their 2-1 win at Hixon. He netted twice, with Harry Fitton keeping Hixon in the game until the end.

Blue Mugge progressed ro the next round of the TB Williamson competitio­n thanks to a 2-0 win at Tean Rangers. Jordan Taylor and Jay Blurton were on target. Cheadle Rovers bowled out after losing 2-1 to The Bear. Kyle Morrison scored for the losers. Stone Town beat AFC Ipstones 3-0 in the second round of the Ken Green Memorial Cup.

Nick Wood, Ben Fraser and Simon Naggington put their names on the scoresheet.

Uttoxeter Town are also through after seeing off Tean Albion 4-2. Jack Holley, Lewis Rand, Rob Thorley and Rob Hepburn did the damage. Tom Lowe replied. Sudbury eased to a 4-1 home victory over Tuns FC. Seb Nessam, Chris James, Josh Wootten and Andy Whittingha­m were the scorers for the winners.

In the second round of the Charity Trophy, Bulls Head won 2-0 at Alton FC thanks to goals from Oli Ritchie and Martin Gadsby.
