ANSELL AND BROWN DOUBLE UP TO HELP MOORLANDS ATHLETIC ACHIEVE FINE TROPHY VICTORY

MOORLANDS Athletic proved to be sharp shooters to progress from the second round of the Staffs FA TB Williamson Trophy.

They hit six without reply to cruise past Adderley Green in their meeting.

Ethan Ansell and Mitch Brown both netted twice, with Tyler Harrison and Louis Washington completing a comfortabl­e morning.

Matters were tighter in the tie between AFC Moorlands and Holditch Miners.

Dean Moore’s strike was the difference to help Moorlands through to the next round.

Betley FC ran out 3-1 winners at Coach & Horses.

Gabi Chimuzinga scored for Coach, but Betley advanced thanks to Nathan Cliffe, George Alcock and Kieran Duckers.

Prince of Wales were 2-0 victors at The Potter, while Callum Towey grabbed a hat-trick in Queensberr­y’s 5-2 home win against Congress Town.

Towey was joined on the scoresheet by Dan Gripton and Craig Simmons. Tom Smith and Noah Williams netted consolatio­ns.

Stoke Town edged a nine-goal thriller in their game against the Kiln. Matt Guest, a penalty from Aaron Taft, plus goals from Sam Jarvis, Mitch Durose and Toby Bell made up the Stoke Town tally.

The Kiln had actually led 2-1 at the break, and their four goals came from Zak Parker, Mark Mcdermott, Jordan Kelly and Niall Mcglade.

Sam James hit the treble trail in Waterhouse­s’ 6-1 home victory over AFC Newcastle.

Adam Taylor scored twice, with Jake Gordon making it six Dean Beech replied.

White Hart VPR needed extra-time to beat Royal Oak 6-4.

The tie was locked at 4-4 after 90 minutes before White Hart found the decisive strikes in the additional period.

In the Premier Division, Bignall End won 3-1 at home against Cuckoo Albion.

Rob Boyd grabbed a brace, with Shane Williamson also on target. Rich Urwin replied for Cuckoo.

Halmerend eased to a 4-0 success at Crescent.

Mitch Blaise scored twice including a penalty - with Ben Longstaff and Callum Middleton also making their mark.

Knave of Clubs turned the tables in the second half to beat FC Lambourne 2-1.

Lambourne were 1-0 up at the break courtesy of Josh Clayton’s effort.

But Knave pocketed the points after Owen Harrison and Scott Bew netted in the second 45.

In Division One, Canal Tavern Kidsgrove won 3-1 at Redgate Clayton.

Ben Ardern scored for Redgate, but Tom Kirkham, Joe Dale and Jake Vernon ensured that Tavern went home with the points.

Dan Byrne and Alassan Secka scored for The Clough in their 2-0 win against Wolstanton Social Club, while Railway Inn won 2-1 at Shamblers.

In Division Three, Jollees won 4-0 at home against Mitchells.

Austin Seadon (2), James Lister and Cuban Barnsley were their marksmen.

Black Cock were 5-2 winners at Keele University.

Adam Hyland led the way with a double, with Josh Barber, Ben Dodd and Liam Fernyhough ending the Students’ hopes.

Ryan Ball scored twice in Royal Furling’s 5-1 home victory over Breaks Athletic.

Charlie Diskin, Callum Ward and Ryan Maddock enabled Furling to go nap. Ryan Heery netted the consolatio­n for the visitors.

Mossley Park Rangers were 6-2 winners at home against The Jug, which featured a Tommy Brooks hat-trick.

Plaza won 4-1 at AFC Wolstanton in Division Four.

Ross Robson helped himself to a hat-trick in Marquis of Granby’s 6-3

win at Bradwell. Rob Hemmings, Alex Purcell and Nathan Jones helped the visitors to the points, despite the home side finding the net through Jaycee Roberts (2) and Kadir Dilek.

Burslem United won 4-1 at home against Park inn.

Andy Thomas netted for Park Inn, but Aiden Nixon’s double, coupled with goals from Josh Podmore and Ash Newman, kept the spoils on home turf.

The goals flowed at Cheadle SMU where the hosts beat AFC Castle Mona 6-3.

Joel Hancock and Tom Bunn both scored twice, while Oli Teague and Kaplan Humphries wrapped up matters.

Dan Garner, Dan Mayer and Morgan Sambrook replied.

White Hart Smallthorn­e were 4-1 winners at Portly Robin Hood.

Sam Bullimore (2), Alex Palmer and Alec George did the damage. Sam Foster scored for the hosts.

James Makins bagged a hat-trick in Athletico 53’s 7-2 home victory over Keele University thirds.

Jason smith, Oscar Crooks, Liam Curley and Luke Ramsden made it a super seven for the hosts.

Crown Talke romped to a 6-0 win at Ball Green Vets.

Dan Raymond (2), Daniel Taylor, Matt Hancock, Liam Bould and Steve Dale scored.

FC Maybank won 5-0 at home against FC Robin Hood.

Billy Heeks fronted the victory with two goals and his lead was followed by Jack Heeks, Matt Rogalski and Jim Batkin.

The Foxley were 3-0 home victors over Brindley’s Lock thanks to goals from Liam Bate (2) and Taylor Atrell.

Roaring Meg won 8-0 at Sumner Athletic.

Liam Rushton helped himself to a hat-trick, while Chris Wright and Ben Jackson netted doubles. Jacob Arnold completed the scoring.
