35 roles on offer as care company prepares for rise in demand

-

MORE than 35 jobs are up for grabs at a home care company as its gears up for a sharp rise in demand for its services.

Home Instead Leek and Moorlands is preparing for the seasonal uplift in client inquiries in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year.

Company owner Carol Lovatt says it comes as families get together during the festive season – and notice any issues with their relatives’ health and wellbeing.

Carol Lovatt said: “For the most of us, Christmas is a time when we are reunited with family members who we may have not seen for a while.

“This is when changes with the health and wellbeing of our ageing family members may become more noticeable. Perhaps mum doesn’t seem as mobile as she once was, or maybe dad has become too forgetful to get through the day on his own? This often leads to professional care being arranged to help support the family.”

Now, Home Instead is looking to fill in excess of 35 caregiver vacancies based across Biddulph,

Kidsgrove and Leek to help meet the anticipated rise in demand.

Carol added: “Our caregivers come from a whole range of backgrounds, but one thing they have in common is that they have a genuine desire to make a difference.

“With professional training completed by us and with support from our caregiver coach, they go on and make it possible for an older adult to live well at home.”

Home Instead Leek and Moorlands has been open for 10 years and employs 43 caregivers who help older adults in the community live well at home.

The company provides tailored support, typically comprising of companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands for older people and specialist care where needed for people who have dementia.
