A CERAMICS manufacturer has produced a limited edition version of one of its most famous products to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Etruria-based Wade Ceramics is renowned for its famous gluggle jug – a fish-shaped water jug which makes a ‘glugging’ sound when being poured.

Now the company has produced 2,022 limited edition gluggle jugs to celebrate Queen’s Elizabeth’s 70-year reign.

Inspired by the official royal emblem, the speciallycommissioned piece is presented in a deep purple colour and decorated with the celebratory seal.

The collector’s item comes with its own unique certificate of authenticity and is individually hand numbered. They are now available to preorder for £70.

Paul Farmer, managing director at Wade Ceramics, said: “We’re delighted to announce the new addition to our family, the limited edition Platinum Jubilee gluggle jug and, in doing so send sincere congratulations to Her Majesty, The Queen.

“When creating this commemorative piece, we strived to produce a gluggle jug fit for royalty, and we believe that we’ve done just that.

“We’ve limited manufacture to just 2,022 pieces and have painstakingly worked to match the colours of the official Jubilee emblem exactly – not an easy task.

“The jugs are now in production and will be ready for despatch throughout the month of June. We hope that this addition to the gluggle jug range will be cherished for years to come.”

Wade Ceramics’ gluggle jugs are not unknown to Her Majesty. A pair of bespoke jugs were gifted to the Royal family on a visit to the Britannia Naval College back in 1958.
