MANY people from across North Staffordshire heard Robbie Williams belting out his hits at Vale Park from their own front rooms.

People took to social media to reveal they could hear the Potteries pop star’s homecoming gig from up to six miles away.

The megastar’s hugely anticipated concert, kicked off with Robbie running onto the stage in front of 20,000 adoring fans performing Let Me Entertain You.

And as he performed his back catalogue of monster hits throughout the night, Dave Proudlove tweeted: “I can confirm that you can hear #Robbiewilliams in #Knypersley,” and then added during the evening that the gig ‘seems to have got louder.’

While another person answered: “I can confirm that you can hear #Robbiewilliams @robbiewilliams in #Bradwell, Newcastle (even indoors with the telly on!).

Robbie took the sold out crowd on a musical journey through his career with hits such as Come Undone, Karma Killer and even a Take That song - Could It Be Magic. He also performed a cover version of Oasis’s Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Then there was an energetic performance of Kids and ‘doing it for the kids’ he certainly was as funds raised from the homecoming gig will go to charities close to Robbie’s heart - the Hubb Foundation, the Donna Louise and UNICEF.

Robbie then came back on stage after a quick outfit change into Port Vale’s new home kit and holding aloft the cup Vale won after winning the League Two play-off final at Wembley. The crowd then went crazy as he broke out into a rendition of Glad All Over - which is played over the tannoy at Vale Park whenever the home side score.

In an interview with BBC Radio Stoke’s Lee Blakeman ahead of the gig Robbie spoke about how he had watched Port Vale seal promotion against Mansfield Town from a hotel room in Mexico. During the same pre-concert interview, he also praised the current owners for ‘doing an awful lot to bring me back into the fold.’

To finish off the evening there was a moving singalong to Angels before Robbie left the stage for the final time. Although people from across North Staffordshire may not have to wait too long for him to return home again.

Robbie told fans: “‘I’ve never been this relaxed on stage…let’s make this a regular thing, this is too good’. And he tweeted after the show: “That was incredibly special. Can we do it again please?”
