Back to black as City reveal their third kit

-

STOKE City have unveiled a third new kit for the 2022/23 season.

A black shirt with red trim, modelled above by Jacob Brown, has a nod to the area’s history with an embossed pattern of the Fetty Cross taken from the City of Stokeon-trent coat of arms which also served as Stoke’s old badge.

The cross-style pattern originates from the Fenton coat of arms and covers the front of the shirt and sleeves.

The modern club badge and Macron logo are embroidered in red and the shirt, like with the red and white home and white away tops already unveiled this week, can be pair with white, black or red shorts. The sponsor, names and numbers will be printed in red.

Stoke have worn black change kits at various times over recent years, including in 2019/20 when it had a grey trim, 2015/16 when it had a green sash and 2009/10, when it had red piping.

It will be available for pre-order online from this weekend and will be available to buy in store at the bet365 Stadium and in the Potteries Store, Hanley, from Friday, June 10, which will be open from 9am until 7pm and 6pm respectively on the day.

And sale should be strong judging from the immediate reaction. Responses have flooded in from supporters impressed with Macron’s designs for the new term... MARC ESPLEY: Love all three strips. Can’t remember the last time that happened. CAV: Smashed them all.

ROBIN EVANS: Take my money. TILLERS: They are ridiculously good. OLLIE LONG: Oh my, you have done good. Love the red.

JOSH JAMES: Best kits in the Championship.

HARRY: I’m actually going to be bankrupt. LEIGH SALMON: Playing our way to promotion. Well done Macron.
