ARE YOU TYRED OF RISING COSTS?

Ahsan in pledge to keep prices low to help out motorists

ENTREPRENEUR Ahsan Ali is hoping to keep fellow motorists on track after launching a new tyre business.

And the 24-year-old knows all about the demands of being on the road as he also drives taxis part-time.

The ribbon was cut at Stacks of Tyres in Longton last week by Lord Mayor Faisal Hussain with the business officially launched. Ahsan hopes his affordable prices can help drivers at a time when the cost of living is hitting families and motorists.

He said: “I always wanted to run a business and I think it’s the right time. I can offer something to help people. We are going to try and keep our prices as low as possible. We offer good customer service and if we all work together we will beat this current crisis.”

Ahsan worked as a taxi driver before launching Stacks of Tyres, and he still works part-time driving taxis. The business, at Unit 14 at Aynsley Mill, sells premium tyres, but also part-worn tyres that have been shipped over from Germany.

He said: “I worked as a taxi driver for three years. We do tyres for just cars and vans at the moment, including 4x4s and SUVS. Some of the tyres have previously been used in Germany – we get lorry-loads straight from there to here.

“I struggled to find premises at the beginning. Family and friends have helped me out. I worked for five

years until now so I have saved up.”

Ahsan currently employs two other members of staff to help him with the business.

Stacks of Tyres is open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 6pm, 10am to 4pm on Saturday, and 10pm to 3pm on Sunday.
