JACK IS JUST BRILLIANT AS CENTURY SETS UP MARKET DRAYTON WIN

JACK Allman scored a stunning century as Market Drayton piled on the runs in their NSSCL Division Eight game at Sandbach thirds. Allman crashed 19 fours and 12 sixes in his 178 as Market Drayton amassed an eye-watering 362-6 from their 40 overs on their travels.

Mickey Allman added 80, featuring 13 fours and three sixes, while Mitch Fish (30) also joined in the run-scoring fun.

Rhys Chambers and Matthew Jones took two wickets apiece as Sandbach kept plugging away.

Sandbach thirds didn’t disgrace themselves in reply as George Oakes (54) and Chambers (53) hit halfcentur­ies.

And with Jones weighing in with 32, Sandbach closed on a highly-respectabl­e 201-9. Ethan Allman took 3-29 and there were two wickets each for Fish and Jack Allman.

It was a day of centuries in the division as batsmen came to the fore. Wedgwood seconds’ Dean Hughes struck 141 as his side ran out easy winners at Newcastle & Hartshill fourths.

Hughes hit 25 fours and two sixes as Wedgwood powered their way to 246-5 from their allocation. Mark Jones added 55 not out, while Isaac Mckeown picked up a couple of victims.

In reply, Mark Brown made 20 not out, but Castle fell to 89 all out as Tom Smith claimed 4-14 and Kieran Mckinney snared 3-10. Cheadle fourths’ Tom Derbyshire also reached the three-figure mark in their win against Oakamoor 4th XI.

Derbyshire’s 136 not out contained 21 fours and three sixes and enabled Cheadle to post 232-5. Alfie Pyatt (49) also starred, with Guy Simmonds taking two of the wickets to fall.

Oakamoor made a good fist of the chase, but fell just short on 208-9 from 37 overs when stumps were drawn.

Ben Clarke blasted nine fours and four sixes in his 70, with George Dawson (50) also reaching the halfcentur­y mark.

Archie Pyatt, David Wilson, Louie Welford and Charlie Stokes all captured two wickets.

Khaled Ullah was another batsman to shine in Hem

Heath fourths’ run-rate success against Church Eaton seconds.

Ullah top-scored with 133 not out as Hem Heath made serene progress to 239-5 on home turf. Ullah faced just 97 balls and his innings contained 23 fours and two sixes. Jack Sanders chipped in with 28, while Steve Pedley scooped 3-27. Church Eaton were behind the rate on 113-7 from 23.4 overs when the rain had the final say.

Paul Brown and Toby Horton both contribute­d 31, with Ethan Collier (314) keeping a tight rein on proceeding­s. Oakamoor thirds ran out home winners against Moddershal­l & Oulton sixths - the first time the visitors have lost in the league this season. Jonathan Wood’s 69, which contained six fours and one six, was key to Oakamoor amassing 154-8.

David Womble and Mick Walley replied with 32 and 29 respective­ly, but Elliot Jackson’s 4-22 left the table-toppers all out for 125.

Nantwich thirds eased to victory on their trip to Porthill Park fifths. Porthill Park stuck 152 all out on the board, in which Ranvir Singh (32) and Matthew Mason (32) shone with the bat and David Ferris (3-11) did likewise with the ball.

The Dabbers slipped to 17-2 in their chase, but suffered no further alarms as Max Gay hit 73 not out and Jakob Jordan walked off unbeaten on 52. Stafford fourths won by seven wickets at home against Crewe seconds. Joe Glayshier’s 6-13 ensured Crewe could only reach 135 all out early on despite Tom Harding compiling 51 and Michael Whittingha­m making 32. Tony Milner’s 41 not out had Stafford celebratin­g on the resumption, even though Frazier Hoye took 3-37.

Whitmore thirds held their nerve to beat Betley seconds by one wicket. Set 153 for victory, Charith Silva (31), Sarath Pathiranna­halage (30) and Priyankara Wijewickra­ma (23no) managed to guide them to their target. Josh Allman claimed 5-33 for Betley, having earlier made 55 in their 152-5. Paul Allman also impressed with 46.
