Really not far from Birmingham
Some pub campsites can be very disappointing, even if the pub itself is lovely: all too often it’s a crisp-packet strewn, scrubby piece of ground. Not so at The Green Man, where landlord Mark has created a beautiful patch of countryside. Damsons and an enormous old plum tree circle a picnic table in a dell beneath which runs a lazy stretch of the River Itchen. But the real draw here is the fact that Long Itchington is the self-styled real ale capital of England; it has six pubs and half of them feature in the Good Beer Guide. ’Nuff said.
