Laura-Jane Atkinson has given linoleum a new lease of life

Once associated with kitchen floors, linoleum has been given a new lease of life by Manchester-based designer Laura-Jane Atkinson. She uses this “clean material” to make a playful range of lighting and vases, above, from £80, by hand cutting squares, laminating them and then turning on a lathe. She intends to expand the range with a new collection launched next month at ‘New Designers: One Year On’ at the Business Design Centre in London.
