About the author
Welshman Dylan Thomas (1914–1953) had a reputation for being a “roistering, drunken and doomed poet”, but was meticulous in his work, re-drafting obsessively. The result is a lyrical musicality in his poems, which lend themselves to being read aloud. ‘Being But Men’ can be found in The Collected Poems of Dylan Thomas (Orion Books).
