The Simple Things

Softly does it

GUDRUN SJÖDÉN’S NEW COLLECTION IS FULL OF STROKABLY COSY TEXTURES AND MUTED COLOURS DRAWN FROM EARTH AND SKY

-

As the air grows crisper and the colours in nature deepen, we long for soft textures, for rich, warm colours. Luckily, Gudrun Sjödén’s latest collection is a love letter to wool, in landscapeinspired tones from bracken yellow to earthy beetroot.

TALE OF MANY TEXTURES

Marled, heathered, felted or brushed, wool is one of nature’s more versatile fibres, sometimes ultra soft, sometimes slightly rugged. However you prefer to wear it, wool in all its shapes is the star of Gudrun’s winter story. Just right for chilly winter days, wool takes colour in a beautiful way. It’s a low maintenance choice, too: Gudrun’s advice is not to wash woollens too often. Instead, hang them out to air and soak up sunshine and wind instead.

NATURE’S PALETTE

The outdoors continues to inspire Gudrun’s colour choices. There are ethereal shades such as shimmering grey and opal green – and rich hues, such as ochre, berry, beetroot and chestnut, to bring things back to earth.

As ever with the playful Scandinavian brand, clothes are not just about texture and colour. There’s a feelgood wearability to Gudrun’s designs, with playful touches that elevate her clothes above the everyday practical. You can see the full collection, along with Gudrun Sjödén accessories and homewares, for yourself at Gudrun’s UK store in London’s Covent Garden. Or browse online, where you can have fun mixing and matching knitwear, tunics, trousers, skirts and coats.
