All things elderflower
TO CELEBRATE QUICKE’S ELDERFLOWER CLOTHBOUND CHEESE, QUICKE’S IS GIVING AWAY AN IRRESISTIBLE FOODIE BUNDLE
Summer starts in earnest, it’s said, when elder trees burst into flower, and it ends in late August when elderberries are ripe. Delicate elderflowers explode in hedgerows across the Quicke’s estate and beyond, and we happily gather them up, capturing a bit of summer’s magic to last us through the year.
Only the best ingredients are good enough for Quicke’s clothbound cheese, from grass-fed cows’ milk made by our very own Quicke’s herd, to our choice of Cornish Sea Salt to mix into the curds. So, when it came to developing our Elderflower Clothbound Cheese – a creamy hard cheese with a flicker of real elderflower – only the best hand-picked wild elderflower would do.
FROM FIELD TO PLATE
We’re therefore excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Bello Wild Food, based in Cornwall, who have been busy foraging, gathering and naturally drying elderflower from across the South West to send to Home Farm for our cheesemaking. From our fields to our dairy to our stores, we believe that the environment our food comes from has an immeasurable impact on the flavour and our enjoyment of it. So we’re proud to be working with local suppliers like Bello Wild Food, whose purpose is to bring us all a little closer to the land, to the seasons and to nature’s larder.
WIN A FOODIE BUNDLE
To celebrate the latest batch of Quicke’s Elderflower Clothbound Cheese, we’re giving away a foodie bundle with treats from a few of Quicke’s favourite South West businesses also making the most of this wonderful summer blossom (see box for details).
