Star thought film role was Gaelic gig

-

A MUSICIAN who landed a top role in the new Macbeth movie said she thought she was applying for a job as a Gaelic singer.

Seylan Baxter, 47, who plays a witch in the movie, got in touch with film bosses after seeing an appeal for a woman with a Scottish accent.

She said: “I thought they were looking for background Gaelic singers…never dreaming they were casting for a film.

“When I landed the part I was stunned because I have never acted before.”

The role sees her star alongside Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender who plays the lead part.

Sylvie said her decision not to dye her long grey locks also helped launch her screen debut.
