Frantic searches for missing children

-

DESPERATE families have been trying to find children missing since the massacre in Nice.

Families and friends were separated during the Bastille Day attack and have been frantically trying to track down loved ones.

At least 10 children, some in buggies, were killed when crazed fanatic Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel drove a truck into crowds.

Some 54 children are also being treated in hospital.

But many families fear the death toll will rise as they wait to hear news of their missing youngsters.

Some children are seriously injured in hospital and are said to have no idea where their families are or if they are even alive.

Others have been made orphans by the terrorist attack.

One small child is alone in intensive care at Nice’s Lenval Children’s Hospital as no one has come forward to identify themselves as his family.

Fears are growing the child has been left orphaned by the atrocity.

Reports state that, of 30 children brought to the hospital, half a dozen are still in intensive care.

Four of them are said to be desperately injured.

Meanwhile, a father has been searching the streets of Nice looking for his four-year-old son, Kylian.

The man, who spoke to French television and said his name was Mejri, said he found his wife dead and his son’s scooter next to her body.

He said: “This is a disaster, I don’t know where he is.

“I found my wife, she’s dead, but I don’t know where my son is.”

He said he had gone to hospitals and called the emergency services but “nobody could tell him anything” about where his son was. And he is not alone. Other families have been sharing pictures of their missing children on social media as they try to find them.

Some show screenshots of frantic messages sent to missing youngsters, with no reply.

One message reportedly read: “My sister Leticia was in #Nice06 I’m really worried, she’s not answering her phone, Please help !!!! ”

Another, posted with an image of a young man, read: “His family has had no news since more than three hours ago #Nice.”

One person shared photos of a young girl along with messages from a loved one begging her to respond and confirm she was safe.

However, the messages went unanswered.

Another person trying to contact her friend, Lamia, posted countless messages without reply.
