Mourinho: ‘I needed just 10 days’

JOSE MOURINHO took charge of a Manchester United side for the first time yesterday.

And he immediately proclaimed his methods are already paying off at Old Trafford.

After a shadow United side won 2-0 at Wigan – with second-half strikes from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira – Mourinho said: “I’m happy because, after 10 days of work, I could see them trying to play my football.

“I could see different things. They started thinking football the way I think and that pleased me.

“Everybody played, everybody had a positive performance, so I’m happy.”

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s first game in charge of Chelsea ended in a 2-0 defeat against Rapid Vienna.
