LA VITA, BISHOPBRIGGS
LOCATION
Right on the main road through Bishopbriggs. It’s two minutes’ walk from the railway station and car parking is handily available at the shopping centre directly opposite.

It’s a Friday night and the place is absolutely buzzing, but we’re still greeted with a smile and shown to a window table without any hint of staff seeming harassed or rushed. Although around for many years it has had a classy revamp, especially the stylish, glassed upstairs area.

Drinks order taken right away and service was pleasant and efficient from start to finish. Regular checks that everything was alright from the staff, who all seemed to be Italian.

Handed both extensive a la carte as well as one of the four fixed-price menus we see are available all day, Monday to Friday. They all have a standard selection of Italian staples but each has a little variation.
TAsTe
Couldn’t fault anything from the thick minestrone and lovely bruschetta starters right on through. The penne salsiccia was just the right side of spicy.

Really decent value at £9.95 for any two courses, £3.50 extra for the three. The total bill for two with a bottle of wine and couple of rounds of drinks came to just over £50.

Couldn’t have been nicer. Couples, families and even a jolly birthday party. Despite being busy, it wasn’t overly-noisy and we noticed that everyone got a fond farewell as they left.

The pizza was cooked in the wood-burning oven behind the counter so we could see the super-tasty pepperoni being made.
TOILeTs
Black and white tiled and gold panelled. Very smart just like the rest of this top-notch local favourite.
VerDICT
A real treat. 18/20
