Making a mark

I CERTAINLY agree with Colin Bower’s complaint about our great industries being run down.

I am sorry, however, to see him exaggerate what has happened.

Like the French minister he quotes, he is quite wrong to suppose that nothing is made in this country any more.

A look around will reveal many factories and workshops still going strong and they are not all for niche products.

Cars are still made here as is steel, for all its recent problems.
