Can Callum book a top-10 finish?

-

HERE’S what to look out for on Day 16 in Rio.

1.30pm – Scottish brothers Derek and Callum Hawkins and Eritrean-born Glasgowbased Tsegai Tewelde will be ones to look out for in the men’s marathon.

While none of the trio are likely to challenge for a podium place, a top-10 spot is a distinct possibility, especially for Callum, who finished eighth in this year’s London Marathon.

4.30pm – Grant Ferguson makes his Olympic debut as Team GB’s sole mountain bike representative, hoping to build on a fifth place finish at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and winning Under-23 world championship silver last year.

7.15pm – Boxer Joe Joyce will almost certainly be Britain’s last medallist at Rio 2016, but which colour will it be? The super-heavyweight takes on France’s Tony Yoka, who controversially beat him in last year’s World Championship semi-final.

7.45pm – The United States will be bidding to maintain their stranglehold on men’s basketball as they go for a fifth gold medal at the last six Olympics. Only Serbia stand in their way.
