Hello to a brave new world

-

I’M terribly excited about the discovery of a new planet.

Proxima b lies 4.2 light years away – a fair old distance, but in space terms it’s right on our doorstep!

So what’s the betting that Richard Branson will be organising holiday trips there by next summer?

Just think how exciting it would be to set foot on a whole new world.

Imagine a planet where we could learn to understand how others think and feel, where, no matter the colour of our skin or the football team we support, we could enjoy the differences, appreciate our individuality and allow each other to live in perfect harmony. A world where we kept the pavements free of sticky chewing gum and where annoying cold callers wouldn’t interrupt our TV viewing?

It would also be a world where you could always get a seat on a busy train – even if you’re Jeremy Corbyn.

It goes without saying that peace and love would be the order of the day on this new earth.

And as a special treat on Proxima b, could Ross Poldark be obliged to do some topless scything for at least another few years?

It’s not too much to ask from a brave new world, is it?

 ?? ?? Richard will go.
Richard will go.
