“I definitely feel like I’ve lost weight…I’ve had to tighten my belt up a notch or two!
“The 5:2 hasn’t been much of a problem to stick to. Before, I tried to eat quite healthily but ate more on some days than others, so I don’t miss the extra calories too much on the fasting days.
“I’ve swapped my lunchtime sarnies for low fat yoghurt with chopped banana, grated apple and blackberries or a flask of soup. And I’ve taken a liking to soft apricots, too.
“My eating habits started to slide a few years ago when I lost my wife – but I think she would be so proud of me having decided to do this diet and sticking to it throughout.”
