Waiting at home for a delivery

-

SORTED

IT is an experience too many of us have had – waiting in our homes for a promised delivery, only for it to not appear.

When this happens, don’t suffer in silence. Complain long and hard if you are given bad service.

Magnus Macleod, of Bettyhill, ordered some items from TapsUK.

Delivery time was to be between 8am and 5pm on Friday, September 2, so Magnus stayed at home waiting. No parcel came. Magnus phoned the delivery company and was told that because of where he lived – Bettyhill, is a dozen miles along Scotland’s north coast from Thurso – it would be a further three days.

He was then told to expect his package the following Tuesday, so he stayed off work all day again. Nothing came.

Magnus had an unbreakable appointment at 6pm, but when he returned a few hours later there was a card through the door saying the package was with a neighbour.

Why couldn’t that have been done in the first place?

Magnus complained to Raw Deal. We had a word with TapsUK. Its spokesperson said: “We have been looking into the performance of our deliveries and monitoring delays or complaints.

“We noticed over a small period that there were delays from one of the distributors. A service level agreement has now been put in place to avoid future delays.

“We spoke with Mr Macleod and will offer a full refund of his £80 delivery charge.”
