Warburton’s letter to late fan’s mum

MARK WARBURTON has sent a heartfelt message to the mum of a transplant patient who died 13 years after getting a new heart.

The Rangers FC manager wrote to Linda McCay after her son, Marc, died aged 29.

The lifelong fan died on Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

In the letter, Mr Warburton said the club learned of Marc’s death with “great sadness”.

Linda said the letter was “a wonderful gesture of support”.

She added: “Marc lived to see his favourite team survive and get back into the Scottish Premiership.”

Friends are fundraising in Marc’s memory to raise awareness of the cardiomyopathy heart condition he suffered.
