Plant crocuses now for naturalising in grass. Large-flowering Dutch crocus make the best display and will multiply every year. Add to the show by mixing striped varieties among the usual purple, white and yellow flowers. Cutting the grass in December, before the foliage and buds start to emerge, will help the flowers to stand out.
