Laura’s doing her level best with son

THE LEVEL star Laura Haddock has told how ‘baby came too’ when it came to getting back to work.

Laura and actor husband Sam Claflin had their baby son last December and she made her acting return earlier this year on the ITV drama.

“This is my first job since our son, Pip, was born,” says Laura, 31.

“It’s a huge life-changing event. It changes absolutely everything.

“I feel like he is the making of me. He is just wonderful.

“So tiny, but so huge in our lives.

“Coming back to work is scary, but I’m selfemployed and very aware that I want to keep my career going as an actress for the rest of my life – but I also want to be a mummy.

“I want to be an actress and work and want him to be proud of me for being a good mum, a working mummy.

“So far, we’ve just been a little vagabond family. He’s come everywhere with me.

“We’re making up our own rules with it. It’s about going with the flow and every day is a new day.

“As long as he is happy, then I’m happy.

“It’s amazing. Things that used to matter just don’t matter anymore.”

Sam plays Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games movies and Laura is also in blockbuster movie action, filming the latest of the Transformers series in London.

Much of the filming for The Level was in Brighton and Laura says it proved really atmospheric.

“Brighton is fascinating,” she adds. “In the sun it’s lively, warm, buzzy, hopeful and a brilliant place to be.

“But when it’s cold and windy, in the middle of the night when you’re down on the pier and it’s blowing, it’s quite scary.

“At night it’s like anything can happen. It’s quite an eerie place.” The Level, ITV, Friday 9pm.
