Armed stand-off

POLICE evacuated about 80 people from their homes in a stand-off with a man reported to have “dangerous items”.

A 200m cordon was set up in Wood End Lane, Northolt, London, as armed police and negotiators spoke to the man.

The officers had been called to the address yesterday over concerns the man had hazardous materials in a house.
