Push for pardons
SCOTTISH ministers must do everything they can to ensure men convicted under long-abolished laws which criminalised homosexuality are pardoned, says a Lib Dem.
Edinburgh MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton made the call after the UK Government amended the Policing and Crime Bill to grant posthumous pardons to those convicted over consensual same-sex relationships.
Men will be eligible for a statutory pardon through the disregard process, wiping any mention of an offence from the records.
