Slam on the brakes for the snake

IF you were driving along in your car and suddenly heard a hissing sound you would probably assume that one of your tyres was punctured.

But if you were a Florida man driving along a highway last week, you would be wrong.

It was of course a large snake hiding under the bonnet that was hissing.

The man got the shock of his life when the stowaway serpent suddenly emerged and slithered toward the window.

The startled driver just managed to roll up his window in time and the sixfoot reptile disappeared back under the bonnet.

Although he pulled off the highway and into a Walmart car park, it’s not clear what happened to the snake.

Of course, perhaps the poor creature was just trying to be helpful as it slithered towards the window.

It’s possible he was a windscreen viper . . .
