CARNOUSTIE PANMURE once again showed their new-found spirit after coming from behind to beat KELLO ROVERS 2-1 in the Scottish Cup. The Gowfers fell behind in the first half but Steven Cook levelled, then Gordon McDonald scored the winner.

LOCHEE UNITED easily overcame ABERDEEN EAST END with Bryan Deasley and Scott McComiskie both scoring doubles in their 6-0 victory. Reece Ritchie and Kris Rollo scored the other two.

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC are also through after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over JOHNSTONE BURGH. The Fed took the lead through Danny Cavanagh but Burgh drew level before Jamie McCunnie netted a late penalty winner.

ABERDEEN UNI were no match for KELTY HEARTS, who ran out 6-1 winners with goals from Neil McCabe, Murray Carstairs, Scott Dalziel, Stuart Cargill, Jason Penman and an own goal.

JEANFIELD SWIFTS were made to work hard for their 1-0 victory over ST ANDREWS,with Tony Holt grabbing the winner in 72 minutes.

BRECHIN VICS shocked SAUCHIE when they took a first-half lead but the Alloa side hit back and a Darren Cummings hat-trick and another from Iain Diack helped them to a 4-1 victory.

A Dean Ballantyne hattrick was the highlight of DUNBAR’S 5-0 win over KENNOWAY. Their others came from Scott Gibson and Darren Handling.

DUNDEE VIOLET got their new management team off to a winning start with a 4-1 victory over BLAIRGOWRI­E. The Pansies took the lead through a close-range header from Ryan Dignan in 35 minutes and Connor Mcleod bundled in a second in 52 minutes. Blair responded through a free-kick from Stewart Nicoll in 56 minutes but the Pansies replied with further goals from George Duncan and Craig Batchelor.

DOWNFIELD are also through after beating NAIRN ST NINIAN 1-0, more comfortabl­y than the score suggests. Kevin Milne scored the Spiders winner mid way through the second half.

PENICUIK were never stretched by CRAIGMARK and were well worth their 4-0 victory thanks to strikes from Aaron Sommervill­e, Wayne Sproule, Keith Lough and Lewis Barr.

LUNCARTY had their tie against FRASERBURG­H sewn up in the first 25 minutes. By that time they were four up thanks a Richard Doig double, one a penalty, Darren Gray and Jon Kelly. Despite dominating the remainder of the tie, they couldn’t add to their tally. The vistors did manage to score a consolatio­n a minute into the second half through Steve Lawrence.

There was a feast of goals at MUSSELBURG­H, where the hosts beat CRAIGROYST­ON 8-4. Matti King bagged four of the home goals, with Ewan Ralton, Conor Thompson, Dave McKenzie and Declan O’Kane also on target.

AUCHINLECK TALBOT squeezed past Ayrshire rivals ANNBANK UNITED 2-1 in the Scottish Junior Cup at New Pebble Park. Mark Shankland had given the Beechwood giants the lead at the break but Colin Granger levelled. Talbot finally overcame their hosts when Craig McCracken netted late on.

POLLOK defeated Northern visitors GLENTANAR 4-0 at Newlandsfi­eld with their first goal coming on 43 minutes when Gary McCann netted. Mark Sideserf’s penalty doubled the lead before the break, with Michael Daly’s second-half brace rounding things off.

RENFREW saw off the challenge of visitors BATHGATE THISTLE 6-4 in a game that saw nine goals scored in the first half. A first half hat-trick from Chris Zok, that included two penalties, as well as goals from Scott Morton and Anton Heffron had the hosts 5-4 ahead at the interval, with Hassan Nyang, Robbie Feeney with two and Gordon Harris scoring for Bathgate. In the second half, Zok missed from the spot before Kieran Healy secured the win.
