Macedonia offer Scots a friendly
SCOTLAND have been offered a friendly next month in Macedonia a few days after they have faced England at Wembley.
Gordon Strachan’s side face a do-or-die World Cup showdown against the Auld Enemy in London two weeks on Friday.
There is a free international friendly date that week and Scotland have so far not arranged a friendly.
But they have offered the opportunity to return to Skopje to face the former Yugoslav state.
Macedonia manager Igor Angelovski said: “We have contacted Scotland to see if they want to play us in a friendly here.
“We want to make use of the date and pick a strong opponent.”
Macedonia have lost all three games in their World Cup group so far, but were leading Italy 2-1 at home this month before conceding two late goals.
Their Under-21s celebrated qualifying for their first ever European tournament by beating Scotland 2-0 last week.
Scotland have made two visits to Skopje – the last of which was in 2013 when goals from Ikechi Anya and Shaun Maloney gave them a 2-1 win.
