Help give needy kids a bundle of festive joy

-

Santa comes early in the shape of the Cash For Kids delivery.

The beautifully-wrapped presents, a few toys and gifts for each of the kids, are handed over at the family home.

“I can’t tell you the difference it makes,” adds Maggie. “Instead of it being pretty empty under the tree there are presents for them all.

“And it’s things they really want and love. I maybe can’t do it all myself, but it’s just wonderful to see their smiles and happy faces.

“Coming down on Christmas morning and knowing there will be stuff there means everything.

All the money raised will be distributed evenly to the eight Scottish Cash For Kids branches. OVER the past 40 years Bauer Media’s Cash For Kids has helped more than a million children in Scotland.

UK-wide, the charity raised £18.2m in support of more than half a million sick and underprivileged children in 2015 alone.

There are eight Cash For Kids regions within Scotland and every penny stays in the community where it was donated.

The participating stations are Radio Forth, Radio Clyde, Radio Tay, Northsound, Moray Firth Radio, West FM, Westsound and Radio Borders.

Cash For Kids raises funds all year round to help youngsters disadvantaged through poverty, neglect illness and disability.

But the biggest appeal of the year is Mission Christmas. The aim is to ensure no child wakes up to an empty room and a hungry tummy on Christmas morning.

You can help the appeal either by donating cash or buying an extra gift while doing your Christmas shopping and handing it in unwrapped.

The full list of drop-off points can be found by clicking on your local station’s website (see foot of the page).

“We are thrilled to have the support of The Sunday Post,” said Cash For Kids MD Sally Aitchison MBE.

“Every year we work to support more disadvantaged children and can only do this through the generosity of the general public.

“The Sunday Post will help us raise awareness across Scotland. Help us to bring the magic and joy of Christmas Day to even more children this year.”
