Betting firm challenges prediction
BOFFINS and bookies are at loggerheads over this winter’s weather.
The Met Office has predicted Scotland will endure an Arctic blast between now and February with temperatures colder than they’ve been since 2010/11.
But the forecasters have got it wrong in the past with “barbecue summers” turning out to be wash-outs.
Now McBookie.com claims the Met have got it wrong again.
The betting firm predicts its odds-on this winter will be warmer than average.
Spokesman Paul Petrie said: “The Met Office have all the gadgets, qualifications and trained brains – but we’re quite happy to take them on at their own game.”
