‘Cash For Kids have been a godsend, they make Christmas such a happy day’

-

IF a picture says a thousand words, nothing needed to be said in Alice’s living room last Christmas.

The look of joy on her granddaughter’s face as she came downstairs on the big morning was a treasure she’ll never forget.

Sadly, some difficult circumstances have left Alice, 58, as 11-yearold Joanne’s guardian (we’ve changed the names to protect their anonymity).

Having suffered heart attacks, Alice isn’t able to work but she dotes on Joanne, always at the gates to pick her up after school and making sure she has all she needs.

At this time of year,

though, only Cash For Kids saves the day.

“I just don’t know how I’d manage,” says Alice.

“If only people could have seen the smile on her face last Christmas morning.

“If it hadn’t have been for the presents she was given, it would have been a heartbreaking day.”

This will be the third year that little Joanne will have had that little bit of extra festive spirit.

“I’m very religious and, to me, it’s like a godsend,” adds Alice.

“The toys and the make-up and the clothes mean absolutely everything to her.

“It’s just such a massive relief for me knowing Christmas will be a happy day and her smile is wonderful.”
